My experience at body and soul spa was highly unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. I've had many facials and massages in my life from all over the world - This was by far the WORST! I am also the daughter of a beauty therapist so i know what to expect. Firstly my "therapist" didn't introduce herself or ask any questions, such as "am i allergic to anything, how do i like my pressure, am i warm enough" - nothing. Meanwhile my friend on the bed beside me was ask all of the above. My massage was so sloppy and all over the place. She finished my back and legs so quickly and my friend was still only having her back down, so she then went back to my back. She used hardly any product on my skin and i was left still feeling extremely dry. At one stage the other therapist in the room even came over to place my eye mask on because she had forgotten that as well. Her technique was so bad i even counted getting 7 rounds of chopsticks, whilst again my friend didnt get it once, her moves were becoming laughable. Next up was the facial. Firstly the cleanser was put on without water so it felt like glue. She even removed my eye mask to wipe off excess product. All signs of someone who doesnt know what they are doing. When the receptionist told me she was new and was told to just follow and copy the other therapist in the room this confirmed my doubt. What qualified therapist needs to follow on from another? I believe she was called in last minute because they didnt have enough staff on, but wanted to make the money. My head massage felt like a nit search and i couldn't wait for the whole thing to finish. Once it was finished my " therapist" left so quickly i wasnt even offered a glass of water. However the worst treatment I received was from the business owner who was called after i politely complained to the girl at the front desk. The owner claims she is new and this is her first complaint yet when i asked if she'd trialed her staff herself she said no, another very lazy and unprofessional move as the business owner. Even the other therapist who was in the room admitted to the receptionist how bad she was admitting she'd made several mistakes all the way through. Yet the owner of this business was still only willing to offer a 50% refund on my treatment. Very dissappointing considering we spent over $600 here all together. This spa is terribly over priced and if i were to get a treatment at this price in Newcastle i would be treated like a queen or, at the very least offered a drink on arrival. Its clear this business is only interested in making money because they were quite happy to let me leave viable upset. All in all a terrible experience and a very unprofessional business. I would never recommend anyone here, absolute waste of time and money.

I have been to this beautiful salon several times and have always been highly impressed with their service. The girls are very professional & the business owner always very helpfull. I was so happy with my treatments that, when we were visiting Qld, i actually made an appointment

What a totally below average experience. My husband and I had massages today. The towels that covered us were oil sodden , heavy and smelly, the massage room we were in was connected to the bathroom and while being massaged we could hear someone urinating and flushing the loo, and the massage room itself so chilly it was hard to relax. Both our therapists were of student level only..... which is OK if that is what you were paying for. We were not.... it was a high priced place - with lack lustre services. Even the Massage oil was cold as were the therapists hands. Give me a break! So disappointing. To add insult to injury we were overcharged for the privilege! $120 for a 50 minute chilly smelly experience.... I guess we should have read the reviews. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! ENERGY OR MONEY VISITING THIS PLACE.

Body & Soul Salamander Bay - I often get treatments from Body & Soul, and I have found all of the staff to be highly professional and friendly. I have also discovered that, although the girls are professional, they are not mind readers. If I have an issue with the way a treatment is going, I usually speak up during the treatment so they can change what I am disliking, and not at the end of the treatment when nothing can be done about the issues. Try Body & Soul for a relaxing pampering.

If you are interested in a relaxing spa experience do not attend this spa. It is overpriced, unprofessional and beyond a bad experience. I have had many treatments at spa's all around the world and body and soul does not even qualify to be called a spa. We contacted the owner to raise our concerns and she was dismissive and her only concern was that the money was paid. It took several attempts and 6 phone calls even to make the appointment this should have been warning enough.

There are many lovely spa's in the area that are above and beyond this experience. Do yourself a favour and read the reviews.
